Now that you have studied abroad with IAU, you are officially part of the ACM-IAU Alumni Network! Since its founding in 1957, ACM-IAU has built a global community of more than 40,000 alumni, including diplomats, linguists, international educators, teachers, Peace Corps professionals, and business leaders.
As many alumni can attest, transitioning back home after studying abroad is not always easy. Re-entry stress and reverse culture shock are common when returning to familiar routines and campus life after an international experience. ACM-IAU encourages students to recognize the personal growth, skills, and relationships gained abroad while approaching the transition home with patience and positivity. If you are struggling with re-entry, consider connecting with the ACM-IAU Alumni Network to meet others with shared experiences and explore opportunities through ACM-IAU and other programs to go abroad again.
ALUMNI OPPORTUNITIES
Alumni Fellows Program
Want to return to ACM-IAU?
The Alumni Fellows Program offers alumni the opportunity to come back to Aix-en-Provence or Barcelona and play a meaningful role in shaping the student experience. Drawing on your own time abroad, you’ll support and mentor current ACM-IAU students as they navigate a new city, culture, and academic environment, helping them feel welcomed, confident, and ready to thrive. It’s a chance to give back, stay connected to ACM-IAU, and make a lasting impact on the next generation of global learners.
IAU Alumni Grant for ACM
The American College of the Mediterranean welcomes and encourages alumni of either the Institute for American Universities (IAU), ACM’s study abroad institute, or ACM to return to ACM. Alumni who enroll in an ACM program are eligible to receive a $10,000 grant, which will be divided among the semesters. This grant is awarded for the first year of their program only.
Alumni Events
ACM-IAU loves to stay connected with its alumni and often hosts receptions and reunions both in the U.S. and Europe. Visit our alumni page to stay up to date on all alumni events.
